Sweden has won the music competition Eurovision Song Contest 6 times. For one of the greatest pop musicians ABBA the victory in 1974 was the start of their international career.
The other winners are: Herreys 1984, Carola 1991, Charlotte Perelli 1999, Loreen 2012 and Måns Zelmerlöv 2015.
The Swedish gala Melodifestivalen is not only a qualification to ESC. It’s a big party when 3.5 million viewers watch it on television
